FREE REVIEW TAGS FROM A SCAN

Note what you see on the floor, against the right code.

On a floor walk, scan the machine, location or item in front of you, write the observation and finish with a list you can take into the review. Print a tag where the note should stay visible.

Free to use. No account, email address or trial. Works offline once prepared.

Fictional values from an example walk. A review tag records an observation; it does not hold stock or approve anything.

MADE FOR THE FLOOR

For supervisors, production and quality engineers and managers who walk the floor and want each observation linked to an exact asset, location or item code.

A USEFUL STARTING POINT

A note is only useful if you can find the place again

Notes written on a walk lose their link to the place: "the second press" or "that rack by the door". TagBench links each note to the code you scanned, records the time on your device and keeps every correction as a revision. It is a personal list, not a task system: it does not assign actions, send requests or track them to completion.

FROM QUESTION TO EVIDENCE

Three steps to a useful result.

  1. 01

    Scan where you are

Scan the machine's asset label, the location label or the item, or type the code. Add the location in words if the code alone is not enough.

  2. 02

    Write the observation

Choose a reason, usually Other observation, and write what you saw in up to 500 characters. Check the preview before you create it.

  3. 03

Take the list to the review

Download the review list as a CSV, with one row for each revision. Print a tag only where the note should stay visible, such as at a workstation.

A CONCRETE EXAMPLE

Six observations, one CSV

A production engineer walks Cell 4 before the morning meeting. The engineer scans station label ST-03 and notes "Work instruction on display is issue B; the job card shows issue C". Then the engineer scans location L4-07 and notes "Empty cartons stacked beside the line". After six observations the engineer downloads the CSV and takes it to the meeting, where actions are raised in the team's usual way.

USED IN PRODUCTION

From a tag on the floor to a fix at the source.

TagBench records what someone noticed. When the same finding keeps coming back, such as items without the right label or offcuts nobody can identify, two SmartFACT services deal with the cause. Both are in early access, with scope agreed at onboarding.

Early access

LabelRules

If walks keep finding items without the right label, the fix is usually where the label is made. LabelRules turns label rules you describe in plain English into approved rules that select and check each job's label automatically before printing.

Early access

RemnantRack

If the unidentified material is offcuts on the racks, RemnantRack gives every reusable piece a label, an exact measured length and a confirmed bin, so the next job can find it instead of cutting new stock.

BEFORE YOU START

A few practical answers.

Can I add photos?

No. TagBench records text only: the code, description, location, reason and note. Use your camera app separately if you need photos.

Does it send anything to a maintenance or quality system?

No. TagBench has no integrations and sends nothing. Pass the CSV or printed tags on through your usual reporting process.

Can I keep a walk and add to it next week?

Choose Save on this device and the list stays in this browser until you delete it. Download a project backup as well, because browser storage is not a cloud backup. A project holds up to 500 tags.

What are the current limits?

TagBench records informal observations. A tag does not hold stock, isolate a machine, approve use, authorise disposal or raise a maintenance request, and Reviewed here and Archived locally are your own notes, not decisions. There are no photos, shared lists, email, assignments or follow-up: one person works on a project, on one device. The QR code holds a local reference, not a link, so it opens a tag only where that project is loaded. A project holds up to 500 tags, 20 revisions per tag and 2,000 revisions in total. Identifiers can be up to 128 characters, descriptions and locations 160 and notes 500. The four review reasons are fixed. A note too long for the 100 × 150 mm tag stops that download with a message, so choose A4. The camera reads Code 128, QR, Data Matrix, EAN and UPC barcodes; for other symbols use a keyboard scanner or type the code. The review CSV adds an apostrophe before text a spreadsheet could treat as a formula; the project backup keeps exact values.

What happens to my data?

Your tags stay in this browser. A temporary session keeps them in memory only while the tab is open; Save on this device keeps them between visits. Nothing you scan or write is uploaded, and camera images are decoded on your device and never stored. No account or contact details are needed to make tags or download them. Google Analytics is optional and loads only after you accept; it never receives identifiers, notes, locations or file contents. Use Analytics settings, or Change preference in the tool, to change your choice; see /privacy/.
