ABOUT
Small tools for the factory floor
TagBench is a free utility from SmartFACT: Smart Factory using AI, operated by Obsidian Black Ltd. It helps you identify an item, machine or location with a scan, record what needs attention and print a clear review tag, without setting up another system.
It is useful on its own. Making tags, revisions, the review list, saving and every download are free, with no account, trial or email address required. The tool does not call an AI service: scanning, tags and lists are ordinary, predictable software.
What it is, and is not
TagBench records informal observations: the code you scanned, your description, location, reason and note, and the time each revision was made on your device. It is not a maintenance system, quality-release system, stock system or task list. A tag does not hold stock, isolate equipment, approve use or authorise disposal, and Reviewed here and Archived locally are your own notes, not decisions. One person works on a project at a time, on one device.
The workbench
ScannerBench shows exactly what a keyboard scanner sends. PrintBench checks that a printer reproduces a known PDF at the right size. FactoryCards creates 100 × 50 mm bin and rack cards. CountBench counts stock by location and compares it with a stock file. BarcodeBench explains what a barcode contains, including GS1 data and check digits. ManifestBench checks scanned carton or pallet IDs against a manifest. CycleBench times work cycles and changeovers on one phone. FeedBench inspects, maps and compares factory CSV and JSON files. FindBench finds a scanned code's description and locations in your own CSV file. MatchBench checks whether a scanned label matches a reference scan. When the same job repeats every day, the SmartFACT services below automate it with rules you describe in plain English.
Help and support
The privacy notice explains what TagBench keeps and where. TagBench has no problem-report button: to report a defect or ask for help, use the SmartFACT support form, and to suggest an improvement, use the feedback form. Help with the tool is free; there is no guaranteed response time, and bespoke integration work is a separate paid service.
